Kanchenjunga South Base Camp Trek

Overview And Highlights Book This Trip

Kanchenjunga South Base Camp trek is a 17 days long adventure trip to the Eastern Himalayas. Kanchenjunga region is a less visited trekking destination by tourists despite its unique features and wonderful scenery. Kanchenjunga South Base Camp journey starts at a low elevated city called Taplejung. The path then passes mainly through rhododendron, oak, and chestnut forest. Besides South Base Camp, Mirgin La (4480 m) and Sele La (4290 m) passes allow you to capture breathtaking views of splendid Himalayan peaks.

Kanchenjunga is the world’s third tallest peak and second highest peak in Nepal that stood at 8586 meters above sea level. The whole Kanchenjunga region is rich in biodiversity, and thus the government of Nepal has demarcated the region as Kanchenjunga Conservation Area with the purpose of conserving wild floras and faunas.

The 17 days Kanchenjunga South Base Camp trek itinerary is designed in a clockwise direction and seems suitable to those who have no more than 2 weeks of holidays. It is comparatively easier than doing both North and South Base Camp trek. Please contact us to design a bespoke Kanchenjunga Base Camp trek itinerary according to your need.
